| Tuition |
Tuition is 267,900yen for a half-year and there is a tuition waiver system. After submitting an application, the applicant will be interviewed. The exemption rate is determined based on the result of the interview. For more information about tuition, please refer to the link below. |

| Scholarship |
The students selected to receive the HUSM International Exchange scholarship are required to sign and submit a Pledge before the start of the scholarship period. Otherwise, they will not be recognized as the scholarship holders and will not receive the award. The holders of Hamamatsu University School of Medicine International Exchange Scholarship are required to sign on the form for confirming presence every month. Be sure to come to the International Office on the first school day of each month. If that is not possible, the student is required to come to the International Office for signing in person on the opening hours and days within that month. Holders who are unable to sign on the form due to reasons such as temporary return to their home countries will not be awarded the scholarship for that month. Please refer to the link below for other external scholarships. Recruitment will be notified to supervisors of international students. |
| Tutors |
We offer a tutorial system for new foreign students during their first year to help them get accustomed to student life in Japan quickly and to enrich students' study and research. Tutors are generally Japanese students and will give individual advice on problems related to language, academic issues, and daily life. (Guidance on and off campus, accompaniment to government offices, shopping, assistance in finding housing, etc.) |
| Japanese Language Course |
Extracurricular classes (Notice) are held in the Group Work Room 1 of the Welfare Facilities from 9:00am to 11:00am every Monday and Tuesday. Schedule for 2026 Japanese Language CoursesWe offer two courses under guidance of instructors: 1. Introductory Course for new foreign students (twice a week) 2. Pre-Intermediate Course (twice a week) Please refer to the list below of Japanese textbooks we lend out for free. Learning Japanese is essential for living in Japan. Participation is free and we recommend taking courses on a regular basis. |
| Notification for Traveling abroad |
If you are planning to travel outside Japan, you will be required to submit the following forms to the International Office: [BEFORE Traveling] "Notification of overseas travel" [AFTER Traveling] "Return Notification"

| Student ID Card |
You will be issued your student ID card when you attend the university guidance session. Be sure to always carry it with you as well as your residence card. |

Procedures to Stay in Japan
In order to fulfill the documentation process to stay in Japan, you need to go to the Hamamatsu Branch Office of the Nagoya Regional Immigration Bureau. For more information on the necessary documents, please contact the Hamamatsu Branch Office in advance.
