FAQ in Daily Life

Q1 : How much do I need per month excluding rent?
Besides tuition, the cost of food is about 30,000 to 60,000 yen/month.
Utilities cost about 10,000 yen/month at most, depending on the season.
Q2 : I do not speak Japanese at all, but can I use services such as transportation and hospitals?
Transportation is not expected to be a problem as there are signs in English. Meanwhile, most hospitals are not English-speaking. You will need to be accompanied by a tutor or other person who can interpret.
Q3 : How is the climate in Hamamatsu?
There are four seasons in Japan. Summer (June to August) is hot and humid with temperatures exceeding 30°C. Early June to late July is the rainy season, and August to September is typhoon season.
Winter is cold from January to February, but Hamamatsu is a relatively mild region in Japan, with very little snowfall.
Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant.
Q4 : I would like to learn Japanese.
Supplementary Japanese language classes are held every Monday and Tuesday from 9:00am to 11:00am in the Group Workroom 1 of the Welfare Facilities.

Q5 : Where can I buy food?
Food and daily supplies (shampoo, tissue paper, etc.) can be purchased at the convenience stores on campus, as well as at nearby supermarkets and drugstores.
