Professor　Machiko INOUE, MD, MPH, PhD

This department was developed in November 2013 to provide primary care/family medicine education and research in the University and local family practice clinics, with the funding by the Shizuoka Prefecture. Our mission is to provide under- and postgraduate education in primary care to develop future family physicians who would serve local communities in Shizuoka and over Japan. We also promote primary care research conducted by clinician-researchers especially in the topics of family/community medicine and health services. Through these activities, our goal is to raise the quality of primary care in Shizuoka and Japan, and establish a foundation of family medicine/general medicine as an academic discipline.
