For Medical Staff In The Local Area

Library usage

Medical staff and workers in the local area not directly involved with the university (physicians, nurses, co-medical employees in Shizuoka Prefecture) can view, copy, and checkout library resources. Apply for a usage permit (checkout card) at the reception desk. Enter the required items on the APPLICATION FOR LIBRARY CHECKOUT CARD (PDF version) (81.9KB) and submit it along with your personal ID or driver's license. Applications for a card must be made once a year.

Range of usable services

  1. Library usage days and library hours
    Monday through Friday 9AM to 8PM
    Saturdays and Sundays 10AM to 5PM
    Closed on: national holidays, University's Foundation Day(June 7)), New Year's holiday period (Dec. 27 to Jan 4 of the following year), and Saturdays and Sundays in the summer and winter vacation periods.

  2. Checkout lending periods
    Materials Quantity Period
    Books only up to 3 books 2 weeks

    Most materials possessed by this library are available for checkout. However, reference books and texts held for research lab usage are not available for checkout so check OPAC (online public access catalogs) to find what is in stock or where it is available. To borrow the material, bring it along with your checkout card to the circulation desk.
    If late or overdue, then be aware that materials cannot be checked out on that same day.
  3. Document copies
    Library materials can be photocopied for the purpose of your own investigation or research. Use the coin copy device provided within the library. Ensure you have enough coins with you.
  4. Other items
    Your checkout card (usage permit) must always be presented when entering the library so be sure to always bring it with you. The library does not have its own parking lot so please use the hospital parking lot.
