The 23rd Kyungpook-Hamamatsu Joint Medical Symposium was held

From September 2 (Wed.) to September 4 (Fri.), we welcomed researchers from our academic partner institution, Kyungpook National University School of Medicine and College of Nursing (KNU, Republic of Korea) and held the 23rd Joint Medical Symposium. The symposium has been held annually since 2001, with KNU and Hamamatsu University School of Medicine (HUSM) taking turns hosting the event. This year, HUSM hosted the symposium in Hamamatsu.
On the first day, September 2 (Wed.), the welcoming reception was held at the Okura Act City Hotel Hamamatsu. From HUSM, President WATANABE Hiroshi, Chair of HUSM International Exchange Supporters' Association UNNO Naoki, and many other members participated in the reception to warmly welcome 27 members of the KNU delegation, including KIM Jung min, Dean of the School of Medicine, and PARK Wan-Ju, Dean of the College of Nursing, as well as other faculty members and researchers.
On the following day, September 3rd (Thu.), the 23rd Joint Medical Symposium was held at HUSM, featuring a total of 16 oral presentations and 20 poster presentations from both universities. More than 110 people attended the symposium. The event featured lively discussions and exchanges of information, providing a valuable opportunity to deepen research collaboration and exchange.
To give the participants an opportunity to experience Japanese culture, the tour of Hamamatsu Castle was conducted on the first day. On the final day, they visited the Seimei no Umi Science Museum (Gamagori City) and the INAX Museums (Tokoname City) in Aichi Prefecture, before the KNU delegation headed home.
The two universities will continue to cooperate with each other to promote academic and cultural exchange for the development of medical and nursing sciences.
