Feb 09, 2026
On Friday, January 30, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine (HUSM) concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kyungpook National University (KNU) of the Republic of Korea.
KNU School of Medicine and HUSM have a long-standing record of academic collaboration through student exchange programs--particularly clinical training exchanges--and joint medical symposia. Building on this established relationship, the MOU designates both universities as overseas research and development hub centers, known as the Global Initiative Center for R&D (GIC-R), with the aim of further promoting exchanges among students and researchers, advancing joint research activities, and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.
KNU, headquartered in Daegu, Republic of Korea, is one of the country's leading national universities serving as a regional hub and is highly regarded as an institution of higher education and research.
Through this new partnership with KNU under the MOU, further international development is expected across a wide range of areas, including education, research, and industry-academia collaboration.
