International Students Excursion 2025 was conducted
Dec 01, 2025
On Friday, November 14th, the International Students Excursion was conducted. A total of 39 participants took part, including 33 international students from our university and their family members, as well as 6 accompanying faculty and staff members.
This excursion is held annually with the aim of deepening international students' understanding of Japanese culture, history, environment, and industry, while also fostering mutual understanding and friendly relations between international students and faculty members.
This year, participants visited temples, historic sites, and famous places within Shizuoka Prefecture. At first stop of the tour, Hattasan Soneiji Temple, participants were enveloped in a deep sense of peace, immersing themselves in the lush, tranquil atmosphere permeating the temple grounds. Some participants also bought the famous good-luck dumplings as souvenirs. At the Fujinokuni Tea Museum, they learned about the origins of tea, how it spread throughout the world, and the tea culture of Japan and Shizuoka. For lunch, they visited Yaizu Fish Center and enjoyed sushi made with fresh fish. Next, they visited Sumpu Castle Park and deepened their understanding of Sumpu Castle's history through a tour of the museum. Finally, they visited Miho no Matsubara. Unfortunately, Mount Fuji was shrouded in clouds and they couldn't see it. However, the time spent listening to the sound of the waves on the sunset-drenched sea shore proved to be a deeply soothing experience for the participants.
This excursion provided an opportunity to experience not only Japanese culture and history but also its culinary traditions. Throughout the trip, the atmosphere remained warm and friendly, offering international students a valuable chance to deepen bonds with one another across nationalities and course affiliation, while also strengthening connections with faculty and staff. Participants shared many positive comments, such as "I learned about Japanese history and culture" and "I had a relaxing and meaningful time with other students."
