On March 13th, the Hamamatsu University School of Medicine Diploma Awarding Ceremony was held at the Act City Hall, with no more restrictions on the number of parents or guardians attending. This year, a total of 225 students graduated, including: 119 from the Faculty of Medicine, 60 from the Faculty of Nursing, 28 from the Medical Doctoral Degree Program, 1 as a Doctor of Medical Photonics, and 14 from the Nursing Master's Degree Program, and 3 Dissertations only graduates.
Before the opening ceremony, the HUSM student orchestra performed "Waltz of the Flowers" from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker", which created a solemn atmosphere throughout the hall.
In the ceremony, following conferring diplomas and giving commendations for academic excellence awards to 2 Medical students and 1 Nursing student, President Konno delivered his commencement address to the students: "I hope that you will face your own challenges as a medical professional who thinks about the future of Japan and the whole world. I also hope that as a professional, you will believe that every person in the world, regardless of race, nationality or gender, has the right to build their own future with their own hands, that they deserve to have that ability, and that they have the right to live happily."
The ceremony concluded with acknowledgments and the presentation of commemorative gifts by representatives of graduating students and diploma recipients.
