Dr. Stewart( University of the Sunshine Coast) visited us from October 31 to November 15 at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine to conduct collaborative research work with Prof. Setou.His research project name is "Investigation of snail mucus glands to identify the love dart pheromone". He ran a number of IMS experiments along with Drs. Ikuko Yao and Gustavo Romero-Perez of the Dept. of Optical Imaging using MALDI-TOF MS and LC-MS as research tools. Also, he kindly delivered a presentation on his ongoing work at Prof. Setou's laboratory seminar meeting.

Three students (4th year Medicine) who are participating in research activities in this course have received the "Student Award in research activities" from the University President.

Professor Setou was awarded the 2012 Mass Spectrometry Society of Japan Award.

Professor Setou was awarded the 2012 Mass Spectrometry Society of Japan Award for a study "On the MALDI imaging mass spectrometry of biological samples".

Basic assignment students were awarded the Excellence Research Award

2 Team Foundation assigned students were awarded the Excellent Research Award.
