Our research interest are in two differernt areas: Biomedical Optics and Cognitive Neuroimaging.
1. Numerical Model and Image Reconstruction in Biomedical Optical Imaging
The aim of this study is to make near-infrared diffuse optical tomography (DOT) practical. For this aim, we are developing fast and high precision algorithms based on the time-domain radiative trasnfer equation. We are also performing several experiments on human subjects, animals, and phantoms to test our algorithms.
2. Neural Mechanisms of Emotion Generation and Emotion Regulation
Near-infrared spectroscopy and fMRI are employed to this study. This stusy is expected to contribute to developing therapy of mental health disorders and "mind-brain human interface", which detects emotions by measuring cerebral blood flow like brain machine interface.
